DVD - Eighty Seven Songs and Tunes

“The Sandhill Waltz” is a collection of songs from my days in Kansas City and Minnesota.
All the tunes were recorded at my homes – or I should say, my apartments I’ve had over
the years – some here in Los Angeles where I am now, using my present home recording
system and the rest from back in Kansas City using an old reel-to-reel and cassette player.
I’m using various guitars of mine like my Gibson J-45, J-30, LG-3, LG-2, Martin 2-17,
Martin/Sigma and Harmony Sovereign. All songs were written by me except for “Dina’s Song”,
which is a song of my brother Dwight’s, and “Wish You Knew” and “Cascade Creek”, which
we co-wrote. Dwight sings harmony on “The Coyote and the Prairie Dog” and plays the second
guitar part on the reprised-second take of “Send Her Back to Me”, and the rhythm guitar part on
a reprised-second take of “The Sandhill Waltz”. The CD can be purchased directly from me
using the Pay Pal button above or by mailing a check to Doug Newman, 1507 7th St. #206,
Santa Monica, CA 90401.
43 tracks - all songs of mine, with 5 reprised versions for a total of 48 tracks all
contained within a two CD package, though technically it’s a quadruple album.

What is “The Cat Album”? Here’s a review by Scram Magazine (ScramMagazine.com):
“Cat lovers and fans of gentle, sixties -inflected pop alike will be tickled by Doug Newman’s
affectionate tribute to the kitties in his life. I’m both, and really dig this sweet and charming
disc. The tunes are catchy and the themes well drawn from life, with songs about cats lost
and (happily) found, not really wanting to give away that litter of kittens, honoring a cat’s
need for independence, ear mite infestations and weird things cats like to eat. …” Kim
Cooper – Scram Magazine. “The Cat Album” is available at iTunes, Amazon, EMusic,
BuyMusic, Rhapsody, MusicNet, Music Match and other online stores. The CD can be
purchased directly from me using the Pay Pal button above or by mailing a check to Doug
Newman, 1507 7th St. #206, Santa Monica, CA 90401.

“Bugs and Critters” is 28 songs of mine mostly about bugs and critters.
All acoustic guitar and me singing and is available at iTunes, Amazon, EMusic,
BuyMusic, Rhapsody, MusicNet, Music Match and other online stores.
