This is a paen* to all Gilligan's Island fans, particulary those who like myself struggled with one of the preiminently important question of our youths, which of course was the question of "Mary Anne or Ginger". Well I should say that the song is sung a bit in the third persion, i.e. I wouldn't be foolish enough to devulge which I preferred over the other, which from my experience in dealing with this essentially existential question was and remains to this day the best course to take. OK well I guess I'm feeling a little guilty and will finally admit that it was Mary Anne. There I feel so much better. |
* Paen - "A song or hymn of praise, joy, or triumph, originally sung by Greeks in gratitude to Apollo. " |
