I Loved Ginger
I loved Ginger .... hmmmm
I loved Ginger .... hmmmm
But sometimes I loved Mary Anne
I wanted her to be my girlfriend
repeat
And when the skipper he loved Mary Anne too
Well I just wanted to choke him
And when the professor loved Ginger too
I wished one of his experiments would go array
And he would blow himself up
I loved Ginger .... hmmmm
I loved Ginger .... hmmmm
But sometimes I loved Mary Anne
I wanted her to be my girlfriend
I loved Ginger
I loved Ginger
I loved Ginger

* Paean -
sung by Greeks in gratitude to Apollo. "

This is a paean* to all Gilligan's Island fans, particularly those who like myself
struggled with one of the preeminently important question of our youths, which of
course was the question of "Mary Anne or Ginger". Well I should say that the song
is sung a bit in the third person, i.e. I wouldn't be foolish enough to divulge which
I preferred over the other, which from my experience in dealing with this essentially
existential question was and remains to this day the best course to take. OK well I
guess I'm feeling a little guilty and will finally admit that it was Mary Anne. There
I feel so much better
